Nicolas Cage and a bunch of good caracter actors and actresses in a Traffic-like movie! Not going as deep as Traffic, but entertaining and far from being the usual stuff. There are twists and turns, the plot is tight and captivant. A movie worth watching!
I was thinking -- throughout the entire film -- why not just have the US Army, re-purposed from their useless careers in Afghanistan, and just 'get' everyone involved in this drug trade nonsense and prosecute them ... fully? Well, Leslie Bibb did that in nearly the last scene. She did all she & her agency could do, yet the drugs just kept on coming. What's a girl to do? Check out the movie and find out what she did; don't leave before the film ends! Her character is a real sweetheart -- in more ways than one!
I dont know how you all miss it but from the start its a cliche woman that is out for revenge, abuses job title, kidnaps and tortures someone and then goes out to kill people and gets away with it. Just like real life she is the type that does that sort of thing, uses job title to get revenge on people.
This is one of those movies I passed by many times on Netflix because I had feeling it would suck, well it did and should have stuck with my gut. The story is convoluted and at the beginning you will try to figure out all the players and the plot. There's no feeling with anything that takes place, just a brunch of random events connected, but not enough to make you care for anyone. The Fishburne intimate scenes were so off putting and not even pleasing to the eye. Feel like I'm blind now like how Al Bundy use to feel when he'd get any glimpse of Marcy next door.
Caught this whilst browsing through Netflix. I can never resist a Nic Cage flick. Watchable, but pretty dire. The only interesting thing about it, is seeing how cocaine gets to the west from source and to be honest, that was a total mish-mash of clips and scenes and you don't really learn much from it. The ending will leave you totally underwhelmed. Love Nic Cage though!
I have nothing to say except that Nicolas Cage isn't even trying to act anymore.
