I just watched my first episode of Caught in the Net. This show is masterfully with all the components necessary to understand he victim and the predator. The technology piece is draw dropping. I will forever keep my watch and phone charged. This show is amazing.
Each episode gives us a different way Technology or a Tool in the Digital Age helped authorities solve an Evil Crime. Before watching all six episodes, I was hoping for variety within each story and that's exactly what I got. Every episode features a different piece of Digital Technology used to bring a criminal to Justice. It gets much more interesting then just iPhones and Facebook. One story centers around an aged GPS device and in the first episode a Fitbit. This kept it fascinating. Each story was different in its own way which I appreciate. I was able to watch all six episodes in one night because of this. If I had one complaint it would be the episode lengths. Each one could've easily been 8-10 minutes shorter. There are True Crime YouTubers that could condense these stories into a half hour video, so I couldn't see why the ID Channel couldn't do the same with these. The answer is simple, advertising breaks, so length should reflect this, but C'mon. Still a cool show nonetheless. It's fairly new, so I do hope to see a second and maybe third season of this.
Very well done. The stories are interesting and the details are riveting. The use of digital footprints for catching perpetrators adds an entirely new dimension to true crime exploration.
