At 12 years old, Carrie Watson places a piece of wedding cake under her pillow when her mother tells her about the superstition that doing so will ensure you dream of your future true love -- and that night, Carrie dreams of a handsome man meeting her at the altar. Fast forward a couple decades, and Carrie, now a successful chemist (and amateur baker), is prepping the wedding cakes for her little sister, Lydia's wedding. Carrie is shocked to discover that the groom's best man, Jason, is the very same man from her wedding cake dream.

This is just a lot of sappy silliness. When will I ever learn? The male lead is sexy and sweet with a big secret. She acts like a silly schoolgirl. Coy might be the word here but there is nothing alluring about her behavior. What is she afraid of? Growing up maybe. The plot is solid and makes for good romantic conflict to push the story forward. There has to be a reason for girl to hate boy and this one comes through, dumb as it is. The acting and directing are ok but the writing could use some help. Production values are good. Sound, lighting, etc.
This film was somewhat bearable until Brad Sisco and his hives - so utterly pathetic and ridiculous plus you have an independent successful career woman acting like a tween..... Totally awful......
A decent family movie where nothing inappropriate is shown or done. It kept me entertained throughout the entire movie. You won't see sex, butts, or people's tongues down anyone's throat. If that is the type of movie that you like, then move on and don't watch this then give it a bad review just because is isn't up to your immoral standards. I wish there were more like this out there.
The story isn't new, a fast talking main character, mystery blogger, a wedding, over the top bride who thinks her fiancé doesn't want to marry her, and a blown up misunderstanding at 20 minutes to the end (this is with commercials when played on tv). I found everyone was okay except the bride and sister. They were just too much. Do brides really think their future husbands should keep zero secrets that have nothing to do with their relationship? Get over yourself. The sister who is the main character was too over the top. Maybe she hasn't got her groove yet as a main character as I've seen her do the same in other lead roles but I hope she gets better. I liked her in the secondary roles and want to see her strive but this was a miss.
This movies is so ridiculously funny!! I LOVED IT!! I needed a good laugh and this gave it to me!! Well worth the time if you want to chuckle and get a break from the majority of the trash Hollywood offers. I am familiar with the cast from various other Rom-Coms and glad to see them in primary roles!! Kuddos to the cast on the acting. Kuddos to the crew for set designs and costumes and makeup and KUDDOS TO THE WRITERS!! What a breath of fresh air from the Hollywood!! Nothing but clean funny fun in this one!!
