such a disappointment after such great hype.its like director bought a new camera and he wanted to show off his camera skill. story was allover the place , rather no story what so ever.don't know what he wanted to achieve. there were many loop holes and unbearable mistakes.English was poor as usual. in the end i would say i wasted my 400 rps.after so many years of work, it should have at least made sense. a great focus is required on storyline and dialog delivery.acting was also poor but i would blame it on the director.there was no need of English language, it was miserable effort to make the actors speak a foreign language

I was keen to watch this after seeing the high rating. I was also prepared to accept that this wasn't a big budget US movie and I wasn't expecting expensive effects and "A" grade actors either. I was also prepared to accept that the style of movie may vary and focus on aspects that were not common in Western society. So I'm prepared and I watch with anticipation - Well what a complete load of excrement. The story was completely disjointed, the music score out of sync with the various scenes and the main actor spent most of the movie crying. I kept thinking this must get better and it couldn't get this high rating for nothing. Apparently I was wrong on both accounts. Give this a wide berth and watch something with a modicum of entertainment value.

If this is the best that Pakistan can deliver in action movies, please stop making them while you're ahead! Unfortunately I must comply with a minimum of ten lines, so, let me try: Waar is an insult to the viewer's intelligence, regardless of it's own agenda. It's so full of clichés, that you do not need to understand the language, or be on the need for subtitles; same over-dramatic music and heroic speeches that I have seen in 50 year old action movies. Shame on those that wrote the overrated reviews: probably, people who may have something to do with the film or people that may have (unfortunately) seen twenty movies in their lifetime. Do not waste your time on this awfulness or get so comfortable that you can nap and watch it on an "easy plan": over three nights, thirty minutes at the time.

I watched the movie with a great expectations after rave reviews and praise from friends! I heard a great things about its action sequences and storyline! But, watching movie resulted into sheer disappointment. Yes, this movie had great production value and great performances, the storyline is totally compromised and totally away from reality. The movie very well captures the emotions of common Pakistanis, but it totally misguides us. As always, the movie shows that India is behind all our problems and we are totally innocent. All the problems have been imported from outside. I believe that unless we will live in such ignorance and do not take full responsibility, we would not be able to address the actual problem our nation faces. Coming back to the movie, the performances, screenplay, camera-work and direction is one of the best I have seen in Lollywood for long time. But, the story is totally fictional and gives wrong message to nation.

Firstly, I wanna say that this is my first review, and that is because of my anger. So, this movie got my attention because of it's ratings. Oh my god, a 9.1/10 movie from 22k users ? Must be an awesome movie right ? Well. No. This is a 10/10 movie if you want to waste your time with Pakistani propaganda. This movie combines all the things that you need in order to make a... bad movie. One of them is using (one more time) the most unoriginal plot history. Yes you can guess it, it's not even a spoiler, you have the awesome guy that is fighting terrorists, it's the kind of guy that can kill an army if he needs to. And I don't even want to talk about the propaganda... oh my god. No really, overrating this because you are a Pakistani is just ridiculous and very much of a pity too.. you are wasting people's time because they trust IMDb's rating and that makes me angry. I'm not writing in my native language so excuse me for the poor English. But hey, not as poor as the English that is spoken in the movie, right ?

This movie was OK by American standards. Not deserving of a 9.1 as is the current review at the time I wrote this. I appreciate the attempt and enjoyed the movie overall. Most Americans will most likely see this movie as cheesy or B Grade but that is not to say they would view it as a bad movie. There is some subtle art here that makes me wish I knew the culture a little bit better so that I could fully appreciate. What really gave the movie some weight was that it was based on true events. To see the problems of terrorism through another cultures eyes would do the average American some good. Hope to see more movies coming from the same director. I recommend this movie for anyone wanting to learn about the fight that the Islamic country of Pakistan has with terrorism or who wants to sample the culture.
