8-nengoshi no hanayome

8-Year Engagement is half romance and half health-recovery movie, and it's interesting for both parts. The early establishing scenes aren't especially interesting, but once it gets into the heart of the movie it's a pretty interesting and unusual story. It's actually based on a true story, although I found an article describing that real story and basically, everything in the movie that seems like an cheesy Hollywood invention is, in fact, not part of the original story. Also, what is wrong with the guy who wrote the user review that begins "I'd tap that but she was not anything special." This is your reaction to a love story? Ugh. (Also, shame on IMDB voters who've inexplicably made that the top review.) Anyway, very sweet movie. Check it out.
