Stumbled upon this show and did not expect much since the rating on IMDB was low, plus the show did not seem very popular. I am glad I decided to watch it nevertheless. It is a fun and well paced show. The cast has actors of different age groups. The plot is entertaining and has informative tidbits towards the end (regarding stocks, of course). I really enjoyed the bits at the end as well. While there is some slapstick comedy, the show is not silly by any means. It is light-hearted and not unrealistic; has few life lessons built in the plot, without being preachy. The OST is also fun and upbeat. The show does not seem to have gotten the popularity it deserves, but it is definitely worth watching.
This drama was a lot of fun. Right off the bat it had a gripping satirical portrayal of the cutthroat world of finance and investment. Despite some initial skepticism, the drama turned out to be a breath of fresh air compared to the usual supposed "comedy" dramas. Full of lively characters with unique characterization. This set of characters was a prime example to how a great dynamic should be. They bounced off each other seamlessly. The comedic scenarios were great and blended nicely with the overall finance theme. However, the romance side plot began to take over the drama in the later parts and it was a bit out of place. I wish they kept it to minimum so that we have more comedic scenarios.
First off, this is 12 episode. That was a really good decision. This is kdrama so "Sarang" is mandatory. The concept that I found novel was that some people *love* trading stocks for sake of it. Maybe it is true may be it is not. But I always thought it was thrill or money or desperation for money that made people deal is stocks. A question I got from one of younger generation relative was this: If you say you can't win against house (and you can't), how come there are people who gain lot of money through stocks? My answer was the profit they make has to be compensated by losses everyone else encounter. This thought or variation of it, is not present anywhere in the show. This is the only reason why I had to give 5. Other than that, great watch.
Korean Drama " Stock Struck " is a business comedy with a romantic twist. The drama has five interesting characters that are completely different from each other but come together for a common cause. Their interactions and the bonds that they formed together were what make this drama interesting and entertaining. The ending of each episode with the tips and information about the stock market was a nice touch as well. However, the main romance was predictable and cheesy. It also got a bit tiring to follow, especially since the female lead seemed to be unable to decide what she wanted to do. Other than that, the drama is short and it has enjoyable performances. So, overall, six out of ten.
