Absolutely loved this show. Noteworthy points :- 1. Direction is slick. In most suspense serial, a strong storyline must be supported by food direction. This show delivers on that front. 2. Storyline has many layers & writer has intertwined them very well . 3. Screenplay is smooth. Never a moment where show would feel lethargic. Length of episodes is kept at 35 minutes 4. Scenic location - Cinematography is brilliant. This show has been shot in stupendously beautiful locations. 5. Plethora of sensitive issues touched upon which grace. 6. Nimrit Kaur gives an amazing performance. A wonderful watch .
Wonderful storyline. Thriller that gives you goosebumps. As the story moves forward, you crave to watch more. All the characters played their roles well. Especially, TK, Vikram and Sam. The story seems to be on real world. Wonderful storyline. Thriller that gives you goosebumps. As the story moves forward, you crave to watch more. All the characters played their roles well. Web series review: School of Lies streaming on Disney+ Hotstar Set in the fictional Dalton Town nestled in the hills, the disappearance of a 12 year old boy Shakti from the prestigious RISE boarding school rocks the entire town with the police twiddling their thumbs, clueless about the whereabouts of the boy. Will they succeed in finding Shakti especially when there are so many myths and stories concocted about his behaviour and character by his friends and seniors. There is also a parallel plot of some wrong doings ( won't reveal much !!) going on in the school (drugs, illicit sex etc). The cast is the strong point of this series with Nimrat Kaur ( as the student counselor) , Amir Bashir( a housemaster at RISE) , Vir Pachasia ( the kid who has played Shakti) & the 2 seniors TK & Vikram have really done full justice to their roles. The damp, gloomy, foggy ambience in the hills goes a long way in creating a spooky vibe that is essential for the for plot. The story however moves at a snails pace and gets very tedious to watch at times. Yawn alert!! Could have been a bit fast paced. People who like "slowburn's" will enjoy it though. 8 episodes are a bit too many for this series which should've ended in perhaps 6. Worth a dekho !! Not the greatest, but not bad either!! Going with 3/5 for this one .. adios 🙂 #DisneyPlusHostar #sanjuzzreviews #indianwebseries #SchoolOfLies #NimratKaur #AmirBashir.
One of the boldest yet most sensitive series on Indian ott yet. Don't let the newly conservative reviewers fool you. This series is as state-of-the-art as so many other murder mystery bbc productions out there. Almost every actor understood the assignment well and enacted great. The story hits the shoddy value and conservative system out of the park. Consent, morality and evilness are woven in a tangled web. Even the supposed victim can be pure evil. Even the supposed evil can be merely a victim himself. Such questions are superbly raised and the viewer is left to ponder. Scenery, cinematography, performances, everything is top notch. No sex scenes to titilate. Just tragedies unfolding on your screen.
This series has a good plot but the execution was not that flawless. Very slow and boring which will compel you to shift from this series to some other. I recommend if you have patience and time you can go for this else this is not your cup of tea. Acting sense of the child actors are good and commendable and location and set up are also excellent but execution is very poor. For acting i will put 5 stars /10 stars For location and Set 7stars/10 stars For execution of the story 3stars/10 stars For story i will give 6stars/10 stars And overall experience I will put only 5 stars/10 stars Now it's your will !!
These are the true stories of Catholic and missionary boarding school in Indian-Subcontinent( Barr-e-Sagheer) if you dig out you will find much more, when children come out of the institutions they become Zombies without any sense feeling less emotion less just like programmed machines in crowd of Humans If I got chance I will dismantle these instructions to save children becoming Zombies, but I knew it, it's never going to happen these institutions are flourishing much more faster than even before, in nowadays hectic lifestyle Parents don't have to for their own children, why called children it's by-products of their enjoyment, sorry to say that I'm also one of them.
Super dooper. Enjoyed too much. Goose bums felt till end episode.all characters played their role perfectly. No one can be point out. TK Vikram Bhola Shakti Trisha Teacher councellor Murli and young pahadi boy chanchal.played their character to the fullest. Director and writer scripted such a burning issue in simple way .Sensitive issue scripted beautifully and Directer used new and young stuff so neatly that everyone would love it .Can be seen with family. Experienced and well established stars Nimrat Kaur Amir Bashir And Ms Ohlan were superb same time debutant cast Aryan Singh Ahlawat and Viren Rupani justified their role and stolen the show.
It's a must must watch series. Great work done by Aryan Singh Ahlawat and Varin Roopani. And not to forget the great work done by Nirmit Kaur, Amir Bashir and Vir Pachisia 💯 The content of this story gives a huge message to the society that where the youth is going and its the result of what they have learnt in their childhood. This series is full of suspense. Dialogue delivery is very comprehensive. Great acting, great cinematography, great story. Totally worth the watch 👍👍 All the actors have put their heart in it. So happy to see such young talent doing so well. Its a big hit and totally worth the watch 💯
