Couldnt have made any better or worse that this, it just seen to lack one genre listed in the catigory field, that says, comedy action and thriller, but the mainsegment that seems to glue this cheesy anglofied heidi version together is GORE, and a lot of it and its surprisingly well done, special effects and vfx in general works like a swiss army knife, or cheese or whatever. Its really a mockup comedy, made in a neonazi style, where cheese means everything and lactoseintolerance means bad advertisement and therefore death. Our poor heidi takes the revenge after her goaty boyfriend and one eyed pontopidaneous grandfather has bee killed in the most cruel fashion. How she does it i wont spoil, just say its doe in a way the grumpy old man got hit in the face by, and the gory lover wil sanctify forever.. a recommend.
This is not a film to be taken seriously, and it's not art. It is a fun romp through the genre of exploitation films, done in an original manner. This movie steals from exploitation movies of the 1970s, as well as spaghetti westerns in cinematography and mood. Good writers borrow and greater writers steal. Overall, a lot of fun to watch, and I watched it twice to catch what I missed the first time. The story contains numerous jokes and pokes at Swiss culture, and the more you know about the Swiss, the funnier this movie becomes. The whole over-the-top, campy comic book nature of this movie adds to its appeal.
I'm swiss and I'm sorry for this, it seems like we have too much public money and like to burn it in such projects. I would prefer no swiss movies rather than this. Poor scenario, pale copy of great movies moments, boring, no surprise, not funny, not sublte at all, bad actor play. The idea of making a mad heidi was good but unfortunately it missed the whole point. They have tried to counterbalance this lack of creativity with more violence, blood and effects but nowadays this doesn't impress anyone anymore. Use this time to watch your washing machine running, it will be more interesting....sorry for this mistake, it can happen, pass your way.
It feels like some people that have no clue about film production got together, threw a dumb story together that makes no sense whatsoever and just went out and filmed it. This film is even overrated for a trashfilm. It is beyond me why anyone would even put their time into making such a crap, let alone people that actually funded this film. Aside from the terrible effects, the pointless execution, there just is no narrative here, none whatsoever. It appears this film is self distributed which might actually be its only option anyways, it's doubtful that anyone will buy this film to exhibit on their platform.
Sadly, the title says it all. Being a long time fan of campy B-flicks (SyFy and Asylum kind), I was genuinely having fun for the first half of the movie, then grew increasingly disappointed and bored, and finally ended up simply fast forwarding to the end at about three quarters in. I'm not sure how they managed to ruin such a promising start, but have to give credit to them where it's due, they sure did. My guess is it became too serious for its own good, bordering on what one might call woke (where "too serious" is a default lowest setting, never a good thing on its own). Too bad for Casper Van Dien, the hero of oh so many trashy flicks I am such a fan of.
Best experienced if you understand English & Swiss German, which most Swiss Germans do - this movie is so good, sarcastic, it deserves a part 2. You can smell the cheese by watching, it's so Swiss. One star off cause it copies the concept of Iron Sky (2012) where we had nazis on the moon, here we have swiss nazis in the Alps. But the fact that they managed to pack altogether the story of Heidi, of cheese, of Wilhelm Tell & the Habsburg, of Swiss Army & the "Reduit", of freedom & modern Switzerland: this makes it unbelievably rich in history and thus in such a sarcastic and gorry manner that it makes it a cult movie already !
