Unthinkably Good Things

How refreshing to see these lovely, beautiful Black women depict a strong bond and sisterhood. We don't always want to see trauma, severe pain and social woes (although there's importance in telling the stories as well -and they are needed). A balance of seeing the sweet side of life is also imperative and inspiring. Loved all the ladies and was immediately impressed by Karen Pittman! Who IS this woman?!?You can see her depth. Erica ash's comedic talent comes through; Joyful Drakes sweetness is clearly evident through the character she portrays. The scenery, fashion, setting was a pallet refresh! I was there with them and enjoyed the journey. Id love to see more films like this; depicting our beautiful Black women!

This movie really was on the money for thinking about how important girlfriends are. It was a good clean ride into how friends help shape your life over time. I enjoyed watching how the bonds formed in adulthood and How supportive they were of each other. This is a movie everyone should watch with their gal pals and would also be a good book. I enjoyed watching the story build. Especially enjoyed the fashions and food and scenery for this film of travel in Italy. It was a beautiful movie if everyone finding true love and sisterhood being the theme. A decent clean movie with not a lot of drama.

I think they couldn't get Simone Missick of All Rise! A powerful figure of a female judge would be a powerful woman anywhere. When that happens, casting is told to find someone like' that person. Then voilà! The viewer thinks of Miss Missick through-out the entire movie though she is not hired in it, psychologically she's in it. It can stunt the capabilities of the other actresses to perform their jobs well...they pull it off anywhere! Good try but could be better. Rom Coms have a common sweet, often sticky sweet templates like shoe sizes that are so predictable though it's nice to be in Italy.

I really enjoyed this movie. It had a warm feel about life and the importance of having good friends (girlfriend) in your life to support you through life's trials and tribulations. It touch on infertility issues, cancer illness, relationship ups and down and new career starts as well as exploring life in a new country. Great acting and story line and the Jill Scott song, Golden, was the perfect song for this movie. I especially enjoyed and appreciated that the women were professional women already established in life but each going through different things. It was a down to earth, real life movie. 👍

I'm sorry, but there were too many plots going on and took too long to merge into a cohesive story. Too many times the storylines were resolved in unrealistic fantasy which made me lose interest in the characters and whatever mainline plot was attempting to be achieved. Some good acting, but overshadowed by the lack of cohesiveness between the storylines. I had a hard time relating to the characters being portrayed as it seemed to be a scatterbrained attempt to bring multiple plots together. I guess because the main story was about friendships, it's really hard to develop a storyline that isn't quickly boring. I unfortunately lost interest about half way through and only half paid attention until it ended. I tried, but couldn't stop being cynical about the dialog in many cases. It may have been that many of the interactions between the characters were too lackluster and unrealistic for me.

Reminded me of my best friends from college and Law School. Yes there are different plots but its the story line of each girl. You have to tell the story of each main character. It ties them in together at the end so I don't think that is a valid assessment. It is not different than any other movie that has friends as the main characters. It is definitely not complex enough to be hard to follow. Simply story lines for each friend and honestly usual. One is controlling and seems to have it all together, another is unfocused and impulsive, and the another use to be positive but something happened and it turned her dark. They each overcome their obstacle and get to their ok place. I like how it leaves it completely unfigured out. You know that each friend reaches a level of ok and contentment at the end. It honestly leaves room for a sequel or a series. I think it was very fun and light and much needed. The drama that was there was not too intense but just enough to darken all of the happy moments. I like how there were guys in the movie but their relationships to the three main characters were not at the forefront and the girls were not whining about their issues with the men in their life or lack there of. Loved it and texted my besties and told them to watch it immediately and that we need a girls trip before next spring!

Okay, it's not Oscar material. But it's better than your average Hallmark movie. Literally every scene is gorgeous. The fashion is gorgeous, the ladies are gorgeous, the men are gorgeous. There is lots of delicious looking food and wine. There's a truffle hunt! And cheese! I smiled through the whole thing. Loved Karen Pittman's pink dress at the end. If you like Sex And The City, this is for you. If you hate Sex And The City, you probably wanna skip this. Speaking of SATC, Karen Pittman plays Dr. Nya in the reboot. Don't listen to the haters. Grab some wine and settle in for some nice escapism. Enjoy!

I really loved this movie. The women had wonderful chemistry and truly brought us into their stories. I loved following each woman's journey. It is charming, peaceful, clever, beautiful, and I want more from them. It reminds me of all the good sisterhood-type movies and shows, with complex and developed characters, subtle and clever jokes, and the hope that each woman makes the choices that will bring out their best and happiest futures. We know these women. I love and appreciate that Hallmark has created the Mahogany sector, and I'm looking forward to the richness the movies will bring to the channel.

So - I've reviewed this a couple of times - and my review never gets posted. I wanted to like this movie. The concept seemed fun. All about friendship - longterm friendships. Trusting each other. Having fun together ... sounds fun! Well - in some respects it was. The friendships were genuine. The problems friends have were real. The resolutions - a little farfetched ... but acceptable. I felt there was WAY too much stuff going on. Trying to follow what was going on with each was confusing. (The Wedding Veil trilogy did it better - focusing on one friend at a time - but still playing on the friendships.) I was having trouble following what each of the women were involved doing and if/how it affected the other friends. Also - seemed more suited to BET than Hallmark. Just my opinion ...
