Zaheer Khan picked up 4/43, though somewhat flattered by inconsistent bowling from the Indian attack. India’s chase began slowly as Sachin Tendulkar fell early for 9. But Sourav Ganguly, desperate for runs on the tour, played a captain’s knock of 85, featuring powerful drives, a six, and controlled aggression. He was supported brilliantly by Rahul Dravid, who anchored the chase with a fluent 72 off 99 balls*, guiding India home with four balls left. Grant Flower bowled superbly for Zimbabwe, returning his best ODI figures of 4/44, but without Streak and Andy Flower, Zimbabwe lacked the strike power to finish the match.
