But Sourav Ganguly, desperate for runs on the tour, played a captain’s knock of 85, featuring powerful drives, a six, and controlled aggression. He was supported brilliantly by Rahul Dravid, who anchored the chase with a fluent 72 off 99 balls*, guiding India home with four balls left. Grant Flower bowled superbly for Zimbabwe, returning his best ODI figures of 4/44, but without Streak and Andy Flower, Zimbabwe lacked the strike power to finish the match.
