تُجبر المرأة على العيش جارية تحت ديكتاتورية دينية أصولية، تتذكر أوفريد ماضيها وتطاردها ذكريات عنيفة عاشتها، ويصل شخص غير متوقع للمستعمرة، على جانب اخر تحاول (جانين) التكيف مع الحياة في المستعمرات ، مما يهدد صداقتها مع (إميلي) وتتوالى الأحداث.
