أحداث الفيلم مستوحاة من رواية (زبيبة والملك) المنسوبة للرئيس العراقي (صدّام حسين)، وتدور في إطار كوميدي ساخر حول شخصية (علاء الدين) أحد الحكام العرب الذي يحاول جاهدًا عدم وصول الديمقراطية إلى بلده، فيضطر للسفر إلى أمريكا مصطحبًا إلى هناك حرسه الشخصي من النساء للتعرف على عادات وتقاليد الأمريكيين.
