يدور الفيلم حول امرأة (جينيفر لوبيز) التي حصلت على الطلاق حديثا ، وتعيش مع ابنها ، تتعرف على شاب وسيم انتقل حديثا في المنزل المجاور لهم ، ويُعتبر صديقا لابنها ، تتطور العلاقة إلى أن تأخذ منحنى مرضيا خطيرا ، وعندما تريد هي أن تضع حدا لهذه العلاقة للحفاظ على نفسها وابنها ، يحدث ما لم يكن في الحسبان .
