Upon discovering her acceptance into Julliard, Nompumelelo, a cynical South African, embezzles funds from her workplace and abandons her fiancé to live out her Broadway dream in New York City only to discover that 2017 U.S.A. is not as welcoming as she had dreamed. There she learns about true love, true happiness, and true citizenship.

Except for the embezzlement part, many people leave South Africa for a better life. Some make it. Others come back home. This is one of those movies that either resonates with you or doesn't. If you've never been an Expat, you may never never fully get it...
She should have had her sights set higher, being an actress and thief, and ran for Congress or even the Senator. Either party - different sides of the same nickel. She would have been sure to win!

If you like woke content you will love this movie! If you feel guilty for being white you will like this movie. I am neither so i hated it.
I just love the English language, there is a fanciful word for everything. The description says "embezzles funds" which simply means she stole the money. So basically she comes to America and steals money to make a better life for herself and then wonders why the US is not as welcoming as she dreamed. Seems to me she will fit right in.
THIS is what is wrong with this country. Pathetic in EVERY sense of the word. The people who funded and made this movie should LEAVE the USA, as they are not worthy of the gifts you get living in it. Horrible.
