Happening 1 day after an episode of Nitro and 5 days before nWo Souled Out 97, this Clash show felt a little sandwiched between two shows that maybe had more importance in terms of WCW's growth but still, a few matches took place that are worth checking out. Clash of the Champions 34 was headlined by Lex Luger vs Scott Hall. Chris Benoit vs The Taskmaster also took place (a falls count anywhere match that continued the Sullivan / Benoit / Woman rivalry) and Dean Malenko also tried to get his Cruiserweight Title back in a match against Ultimo Dragon.
