This series was recommended by a close friend and it doesn't disappoint. It's engaging, terrifying and gratifying all at once.I have to say the lack of segment identification is a little bit of a stumble. One character to the next.Takes a few sentences to recognize where you are.The narrator pauses very little between different story lines. You have to be engaged or you will lose some of the story.Otherwise it's quite good.
Great read! Follows book one without skipping a beat and keeps you "turning the page" OR listening for longer than expected each day/night!
A modern play of what I can only assume is going to turn into 'Nazi America'. I can't stop listening.
Realistic! Frightening. "What if" described in realistic and scary detail. Anything the narration lacks is compensated by the story.
not hard to believe something like this could happen.crazier things are happening here and around the world
I can't wait to start book 3! It's not too often that a sequel matches quality of the original but this one did. Great book, great performance and excellent story!
This is the 2nd in this serues and is just as great as the 1st.
A must read for anyone with a clue about big government, and why we need all our freedoms
So he's gotten home, and now things are getting a bit hairy, now what?A. American does a great job getting you into the story, and keeping you there. It's not like your an outsider, listening to a story, you're there and watching it; you're going to start to try and "think in front of the story", asking yourself "what about this?", "how would I react?", "People are really going to act this way".Looking forward to book 4.
I skipped the first book and read this one since it had the best reviews. The main character is Morgan who lives in a small Florida town dealing with the collapse of the nations power grid. This is your typical Preppers story. The storyline is there but it tends to bounce around and with a lot going on it made it hard to keep up. It was suspenseful but some parts dragged on a bit then ended quickly. I now understand abridge books.Had they had a different narrator I think I would of enjoyed it more. There were no pauses between changes in the story and since it bounced around so much it was easy to get lost (a lot of hitting the rewind button). I might read book 3 to see what's next but only if I can't find anything better. Try - Alas Babylon or The Road, two great books.
