This is Kiana James’ WWE debut. She made her debut as Kayla Inlay in February 2022 against Sarray on NXT. Sarray hit Kayla with an exploder to win the match. Two weeks later on Level Up, Kayla teamed up with Fallon Henley against Tatum Paxley and Ivy Nile, where Nile tapped out Kayla for the win. On NXT, she faced Nikkita Lyons. Lyons hit Kayla with a split legged splash to win the match. A month later on Level Up, she was now Kiana James and she faced Ivy Nile, where Nile tapped her out. Three weeks later, she faced Paxley. Paxley hit James with a twisting senton to win the match. A month later, James entered the Breakout Tournament. Next week, she faced Roxanne Perez in the first round. Roxanne hit James with the Pop Rocks to advance. Nile was training backstage two weeks later. James appeared, asking if all she does is work out. Nile said when she’s not competing, she is working out. James told Nile when Pretty Deadly will beat the Creed Brothers, she has to find a new team. Nile said it’s Dimond Mine forever. James added they have 20% chance of winning. Nile caught her, asking her what are the chances of her beating her. James replied the same as the Creed Brothers and Nile challenged her. They met later that night. Nile slammed James to the mat to win the match. A month later on Level Up, James faced Brooklyn Barlow. James caught Barlow with a gutbuster to win the match. On NXT, she faced Indi Hartwell, where James pinned her with the help of the rope. Three weeks later, James faced Sol Ruca. James caught Ruca with a reverse STO to win the match. A week later on NXT, she was in a battle royal. She eliminated Henley. Made the last four and got eliminated by Lyons. A week later, James did a presentation on what’s wrong with the women’s division. The problem is Lyons, who grew up on a tour bus, having a limited vocabulary, her wardrobe is a problem, saying she doesn’t fit the model of what a woman should be. James added she’ll search more about her and report back. A week later, Lyons responded by saying she sa
