Making the juiciest & crispiest chicken wings for friends always sets the mood right. Lately these gochujang honey ones have kind of become our go-to whenever people come over. They come out of the airfryer all golden and crunchy, still sizzling a little, smelling sweet and spicy at the same time. It feels like ordering takeout, except it’s way lighter and waaaay healthier. I love that moment when everyone grabs a piece, goes quiet for a second because they’re too good not to and then the compliments start coming. Every. Single. Time. If you try these, cook along with me and tell me where you’re watching from (: Ingredients: Chicken wings: • 600g chicken wings (thighs also work) • 1 tbsp avocado oil • 4 tbsp cornmeal or cornstarch • 1 tsp garlic powder • 1/2 tsp salt • 1/2 tsp black pepper Sticky sauce: • 2 tbsp brown sugar • 2 tbsp soy sauce • 2 tbsp water • 2 tbsp rice vinegar • 1 tbsp gochujang • 2 tbsp honey • 4 garlic cloves, minced • 2 tsp chili Topping: • Sliced scallion greens • White sesame seeds Directions: 1. Cut the chicken wings at the joint and pat them dry. 2. Mix cornmeal, garlic powder, salt, black pepper and avocado oil, then coat the chicken well. 3. Airfry at 200°C (390°F) for 15–20 minutes, turning after 10 minutes. 4. Meanwhile, heat brown sugar, soy sauce, water, rice vinegar, gochujang, honey, minced garlic and chili on medium-high. 5. Stir until the sauce thickens into a glossy, sticky coating. 6. Coat the cooked chicken wings in the sauce. 7. Top with sesame seeds and sliced scallion greens.
