It’s a first time match-up in this 1 fall contest. In the absence of an official, the match begins with both wrestlers giving each other equal respect and wrestling strictly by the book. Armlocks, Headlocks and Anklelocks are exchanged and countered as each woman looks for the early advantage. Perhaps inevitably, the stalemate begins to frustrate one wrestler. Marti decides to tip the balance in her own favor and brings the ropes into play, wrapping Athena’s arm around the top rope. Athena’s arms soon become Marti’s target of choice as they are twisted, bent, stomped, kneed and comprehensively worked over. However, Athena is a wrestler well known for her kicking prowess. So even with her arms weakened, she remains a formidable opponent.
