In 2016, after an epic two-fight showdown with Vyacheslav Vasilevsky, which will forever be etched in gold letters among the top duels in Russian mixed martial arts, Alexander Shlemenko returned to Bellator and destroyed Kendal Grove. The prospect of a superfight for Storm in Russia in the spring of 2017 loomed large, and a fight with Ramazan Emeev was in the works, but the latter's injury prevented it. Work was underway to arrange a rematch with Brandon Halsey, but the American fighter announced that he would be several pounds overweight and unable to make the middleweight category, making the long-awaited rematch impossible. M-1 Global matchmakers then negotiated with several top middleweights free of contractual obligations with major promotions, and the choice was made in favor of the most deserving and accomplished fighter. The man was Ring of Combat champion Paul "The Gentleman" Bradley, a man with 23 wins in 30 fights, experience in the UFC and Strikeforce, and an impressive Bellator record. During his college years, Paul was ranked among the top four wrestlers in his weight class in the United States. "The Gentleman" boasted immense physical strength, incredible tenacity, and the ability to fight equally well on the feet and on the ground. His extensive experience competing in the world's top promotions against top athletes made him a formidable opponent, even for a star fighter like Alexander Shlemenko, and very similar to his arch-rival Brandon Halsey, who was just one step away from exacting revenge. #Fight #Shlemenko #M1
