Only catch the first Pokémon you encounter in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances. 2. If the first Pokémon encountered is the same species/evolutionary line as a Pokémon you've previously caught, you can ignore it and catch the next encounter. 3. If your Pokémon faints it is considered dead, therefore you must put it in a "dead" box. 4. If you encounter a Shiny Pokémon at any point, you may catch it. 5. All Pokémon MUST be nicknamed.
