In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Chris Trevino return to the studio to discuss the Trojans first scrimmage period of spring football, getting the lowdown from the offensive players and coaches after Tuesday's workout. The guys talk about how the offense came out stagnant early in the scrimmage before coming together and turning things around. Quarterback Caleb Williams broke off a long run and tight end Malcolm Epps caught a touchdown in the redzone. Speaking of Williams, he talked to the media on Tuesday and said that he was going to try and focus on taking off and running less, with an emphasis on staying in the pocket and finding the open man. He talked about running too much last season, but also said there were times where he stayed in the pocking waiting for a receiver to break free of the coverage when he should have cut his losses and just ran for whatever yards he could. Williams was also asked about his number, No. 13, that happens to be shared by wide receiver Michael Jackson. Neither player knew what the outcome will be, but we do know at least one of them will have to switch numbers before the season starts because you cannot have two players with the same number on the same side of the ball.
