Today Kru Petch goes over simple combinations to help sharpen the athletes’ technique when shadow boxing. The idea is to get used to simple combinations so that you can move on to combinations with more moves. Kru Petch believes in simplicity and is a perfect example of how you can make simple look really good. Kru Petch goes over: 1) Combinations that start with the push kick 2) Combinations that involve kicking and controlling the body and being in balance so that you are able to strike again after you miss 3) Combinations that involve uppercuts. Common mistakes that athletes make is lowering and bending the head too much when upper cutting. Kru Petch mentions that lowering the head while upper cutting can be very dangerous because your opponent can elbow, knee, etc. By keeping the body straight and using your shoulder and hips effectively you can still generate power without putting yourself in danger. Additionally, especially for muaythai athletes, keeping the body straight puts you in a better position to strike and use your other weapons effectively after throwing an uppercut.
