Hida Furukawa is a gorgeous Japanese village in the countryside with koi carp in the streets! You can go there on a day trip from Takayama. β¨ Get my Japan guide book: https://cakeswithfaces.co.uk/product/japan-travel-guide-book/ Hida Furukawa is less than 20 minutes on the train from Takayama in Gifu Japan, in the beautiful Hida region. In the old town there are streets with koi carp fish in the streets. You can feed them for only 100 yen - it's so much fun! There are lots of other things to do: there's an exhibition of festival floats from their annual matsuri in April. I had a go on a large taiko drum. You can go cycling through rice fields, and there are several locations from the anime film Your Name (Kimi No Na Wa), including the shrine, library, station and rest stop where they had gohei mochi. I also tried traditional Japanese braiding like in the film. It's a real hidden gem, off the beaten track. We only saw a few other tourists there - it was mostly really quiet and peaceful. A really relaxing day in rural Japan! βΆοΈ SUBSCRIBE for Japan travel videos every Thursday. π CAKES WITH FACES SHOP (worldwide shipping): https://www.cakeswithfaces.co.uk β¨ FOLLOW CAKES WITH FACES: http://instagram.com/cakeswithfaces https://bsky.app/profile/cakeswithfaces.co.uk https://www.threads.net/@cakeswithfaces https://www.facebook.com/cakeswithfaces #japan #japantravel #japanvlog #gifu
