Mark Bocek vs Drew Fickett ADCC 2007 Mark Andrew Bocek (Czech: Boček; born October 24, 1981) is a Canadian retired mixed martial artist who competed in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional competitor for ten years from 2004 to 2014, Bocek has also formerly competed for King of the Cage. Bocek holds a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and has been studying the art for two decades. He first studied under Rickson and Renzo Gracie and then moved on to Nova Uniao, where he received his black belt through Joao Roque in December 2003, making him the first Canadian-born black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Bocek currently trains in BJJ with Marcelo Garcia and also holds a black belt in Kempo Karate. Andrew Robert Fickett (born December 14, 1979) is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the Lightweight division. A professional competitor since 1999, Fickett has also formerly competed for the UFC, Strikeforce, DREAM, Cage Rage, the XFC, MFC, and King of the Cage. Background Fickett is from Tucson, Arizona and began training in Kajukenbo when he was 10 years old. When Fickett was in high school he was a Wrestler and practiced Judo, with MMA legend Don Frye's original trainer. He was the second best wrestler in the state of Arizona during his junior year and began his career in MMA shortly after graduating from high school.
