Is VAR helping or hurting IBJJF competition?

In this match, at around the 1:00 mark, the referee awarded 3 points. The athletes continued competing under that score for approximately 45 seconds. Then, with only 15 seconds remaining, the referee stopped the action, requested a VAR review, overturned the decision, removed the points, and restarted the match with the final 15 seconds. But here’s the question: What about the 45 seconds that were already fought? During that time, one athlete believed he was losing on points. That changes everything—strategy, urgency, risk-taking, pacing, and even the coach’s instructions. Both athlete and coach were forced to make tactical decisions based on a scoreboard that was later reversed. Should VAR be allowed to change a match after competitors have already adjusted their game to an incorrect score? Or is getting the final decision right more important than preserving the flow of the match?
