Volleyball coaches often need to assist their athletes in building strength and power off the volleyball court. However, unless the coach has a background within the field of strength and conditioning, it can be difficult to catch if their athletes are performing resistance training exercises with proper mechanics. In this new USA Volleyball series, Strength 101, Myles Cooper, Head Athletic Performance Coach for the BNTs, and Logan Webber, Men’s Beach NT Member, assist coaches and athletes in understanding how to properly execute a variety of foundational resistance training exercises. In this video, the spotlight is on the goblet squat. Myles and Logan demonstrate cues for the correct execution of a goblet squat and common mistakes that can jeopardize safety.
