Tamayo keeps distance from Flores allowing him to land stiff jabs in round 2. Flores is left with a cut over his right eye from colliding heads with Tamayo in round 2. Tamayo continues to pound the body on Flores in round 4 and Flores reciprocates with solid body shots. Flores and Tamayo are more aggressive in round 5. Flores uses his distance to prevent Tamayo from connecting and Tamayo is forced to go to the inside. Flores continues to throw punches to the body in round 7 and keeps the distance to a frustrated Tamayo. Tamayo closes the gap with Flores in round 9 by making Flores step in.
