This multiple time world medallist became a black belt world champion at the age of 20 and was regarded as a Pound for Pound best during the early 2000s. His impact in modern-day jiu-jitsu was felt in his development of positions such as the Toreando, the Leg Drag, and many others while having great impact also as a coach, having helped raise the game of fighters such as André Galvao, Rubens Charles, Michael Langhi, Lucas Lepri. Bruno is well known for his past as one of the main representatives of the 2x world champion team Nova Uniao, a team he separated from in 2014 to found his own Bruno Bastos Association. Bastos would later also found the LEAD Team, a successful workgroup in the sport’s international circuit.
