New Breed BJJ Competition Match 14 Jacksonville Florida, July 1, 2023 Red Vs Blue 00:27 Smooth Back take from an overhook to an armdrag by Red . You usually see these from an underhook by the bottom guy. 00:51 Blue beings a back escape sequence by bridging and putting his weight on Red. Red does a good job of controlling for a bit as Blue goes trough various escape attempts until he finds something to stick and get out. The point is not an isolated technique but Blue continues to attempt escape and does not settle in the position . 02:03 Red attempts a knee tap and then kinda looks for a roll through sweep when the tap wasn’t there. He wasn’t successful with either but he is playing a common dilemma game with this sequence from half guard. 02:42 Red attempts a roll thorough sweep but Blue is able to keep his hips down then gets the cross face and flatten Red out. 02:50 Looks like a triangle armbar on the back mat. 03:00 Blue gets too high on his pass attempt allowing Red to clear the crossface and create a scramble /ashi exchange. 05:36 Red enters a dangerous situation for himself as he goes to outside ashi with no lock on the heel. 05:43 Blue attempts a counter leg lock off of outside ashi but doesn’t control the top foot making this just and escape and not a counter. Good work by both guys. Blue had some good escapes but he seemed to spend most of his time responding to what Red was doing. Red set up a solid game from the bottom half that got him into some good spots and ultimately won him the match. Winner Red Via Points
