This is the feud that cost CM Punk’s ECW Title. In December 2007, Punk faced MVP in a champion vs champion match. MVP wouldn’t stop assaulting Punk in the corner and he got disqualified. Then he hit him with a big boot. Chavo attacked Punk, hit him with the Three Amigos and followed by the frog splash. Two weeks later, Chavo said while he was home injured, he had to watch Punk’s rise and it made him sick. Punk interrupted, saying the reason he attacked him is because they are talking about him. Chavo said it’s not about the talk. They are saying Punk is the future and Chavo considers him a stepping stone for him, adding that he will win the title. Punk said he’s nobody’s stepping stone and if Chavo wants a shot at the title, he’s standing in front of him. Armando Estrada said if Chavo can beat Punk, he will get a title shot. They were brawling outside, Punk got inside, Chavo got pushed by him and got counted out. Chavo got the same chance a week later. Chavo took off the turnbuckle pad, the ref was putting it back, Chavo took the title, the ref took it away and disqualified him. Then Punk hit Chavo with the GTS. Next week, Edge hosted his show and invited Punk. Edge questioned Punk’s reign, saying he beat Chavo twice but not cleanly. Punk said Chavo can challenge him again, saying he can beat him any time. Edge said it’s a bold statement. Punk said he can beat Edge too. Chavo appeared and challenged him for a third time. Punk said Chavo will challenge him for a fourth time next week after he beats him tonight. Chavo pushed him, Edge punched him, they started beating him down and threw him into the ring post. They met in the main event. Chavo distracted the ref, Edge hit Punk with the title and he got counted out. On Smackdown, Edge and Chavo faced Rey Mysterio and Punk. Rey put Chavo into position, hit him with the 619 and Edge hit him with a chair, ending in a DQ. Edge was assaulting him, Punk tried to save him but the Edgeheads intervened. Then Chavo went for Punk’s arm and Edge caught Rey with a spear. On ECW,
