The narrator ruins this. She starts in on the southern accents slurring the words and sentencing and speaking them so fast that I often had to rewind and replay to figure out what she was saying. That was awful.Very distracting.
Don't try accents you really can't do. Just read the book straight. The Cajun accent wasn't easy to listen to either
Terrible accents spoiled the audio book. Overall the story was good. It was an entertaining plot.
Could not listen to the narrators southern accent in this story. Very bad attempt. @ a Southern drawl. Could not listen to the book.
Class distinctions in loud, unintelligible accents ruin this book. Narrator is really and truly awful.
I am Julie Garwoodfan. I have listened to and read her books for years. I have always before been a huge fan of her historical romances so I decided to give this series a try.The first book in the series I enjoyed this one I tried 3 times to listen to and between the slow start and the narrator I could not do it.
I love Julie Garwood and her books. I have them in print. I was hoping to listen to them through audible during drives or just when I'm cleaning but the narrator was getting on my nerves when she was trying to do an accent. the words became slurs and the.accent just wasn't my cup of tea. I hope to return this and get my money back.
If you could sum up Mercy in three words, what would they be?Sweet, riveting, humorousWhat was one of the most memorable moments of Mercy? When Theo first arrives at Bowen, and the kids mistakenly think that he is the new high school football coach.Really funny!!What about Christina Traister’s performance did you like?Everything! She goes from a Louisiana accent to a Boston accent with great ease.If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?Finding your way to love
The characters were built up so well. The narration was wonderful, loved CT's northeast accent as well as the Louisiana accent.A complete surprise on one of the "villians" at the end (don't want to spoil it for those trying to decide). Most definitely worth the credit.
I have to say this is one of my favorite books to listen to. The story line was totally unexpected and the narrator did a great job with the accents. You could definitely tell the difference in the characters. I have listened to 3 times already. I would recommend getting this one.
