Wai Ting and Jordan Goodman are back with this month's edition of The Wellness Policy as they discuss the importance of play in our everyday lives through discussion of the book, “Play: How it Shapes the Brain, Opens the Imagination, and Invigorates the Soul” by Stuart Brown, M.D. They explore the evolutionary purpose of play in animals, how play evolves over the lifespan, why we tend to lose our sense of play as we age, the benefits of incorporating a play-state in work and life, and suggestions on how to become more playful. As always, they open up the phone lines for POST Wrestling Café members to share their own experiences of the topic as it relates to parenting, loosening up with colleagues, balancing play with seriousness, and more. They wrap with an exploration of how play fits into Wai and Jordan’s lives.
