đŸ„Š FIGHT DESCRIPTION: Dawejko (28–11–4) is a long-time veteran of the sport. Across a career that has lasted more than fifteen years, the 34-year-old has experienced a mixture of victories and setbacks. He previously captured the WBC USA Silver heavyweight title and was last in action in April, when he secured a third-round retirement victory over Walter Burns. Torrez approached the fight with discipline and composure, demonstrating that he is far more than a one-dimensional puncher. He relied on a sharp jab, smart footwork, and clever feints to control the tempo and dictate the flow of the bout. As the rounds progressed, the Californian began landing clean punches on Dawejko with increasing ease. The power of those shots repeatedly knocked Dawejko’s mouthpiece loose. After it fell out several times, the referee warned him that continued incidents could lead to a disqualification, and points were eventually deducted when the problem persisted. Torrez continued to step up the pressure, ripping uppercuts as Dawejko started to fade. He also targeted the body consistently, forcing Dawejko into a defensive, survival mode. By the fourth round, the result was beginning to look inevitable. Torrez’s busy right hand kept Dawejko occupied, leaving him open to the southpaw’s powerful left hands that landed repeatedly to the head. During that round alone, Dawejko lost his mouthpiece four times. Each time, the referee picked it up and placed it back in his mouth without rinsing it, and the repeated infractions eventually resulted in additional point deductions. Between the brief pauses in action, Dawejko was visibly breaking down, and at one moment a sharp left uppercut from Torrez nearly sent him to the canvas. In the fifth round, both fighters exchanged heavy punches. Torrez connected with a punishing uppercut that left Dawejko wobbling, and another hard shot soon after caused the mouthpiece to fall out yet again. With the warning already issued and the problem continuing, the referee kept his word and ultimately disqualified
