Most people think Jones is too big and too good for Adesanya, but there's footage of him sparring with Anthony Johnson and doing very well! He was brought in as a 3-0 MMA fighter to emulate Jon Jones for Anthony Johnson, before that event was derailed by a hit and run incident. So I took this chance to talk about a few technical features that make Adesanya so great in striking. I love Adesanya's use of the kick - cross chain. I also love how he uses his stutter feints with stance switches to tire out both the MIND and body of his opponents. He's also got great body work that we haven't seen as much of in the UFC, and he does some of his best work between transitions. He's a unique athlete in that he's competed in 3 sports, pro boxing, kickboxing, and MMA. Personally, I think Adesanya wins the pure striking match regardless of the weight class difference.
