Publisher's Summary What is the nature of space and time? How do we fit within the universe? How does the universe fit within us? There's no better guide through these mind-expanding questions than acclaimed astrophysicist and best-selling author Neil deGrasse Tyson. But today, few of us have time to contemplate the cosmos. So Tyson brings the universe down to Earth succinctly and clearly, with sparkling wit, in digestible chapters consumable anytime and anywhere in your busy day. While waiting for your morning coffee to brew, or while waiting for the bus, the train, or the plane to arrive, Astrophysics for People in a Hurry will reveal just what you need to be fluent and ready for the next cosmic headlines: from the big bang to black holes, from quarks to quantum mechanics, and from the search for planets to the search for life in the universe. ©2017 Neil DeGrasse Tyson (P)2017 Blackstone Audio, Inc.

I fell in love with this audio book in the first 30 minutes. I could listen to every chapter over and over again and each time my mind is still blown away. And if you're anything like me then you'll have to listen to it a few times to truly understand the scale, science, and origin behind this incredible universe we all live in.Even if you're moderately curious about the sky and anything not of our Earth then I highly recommend this book. It's like a movie you watch over and over again and each time you see/learn something new.

Is there anything you would change about this book?Leave out his moralistic BS at the end. Did the narration match the pace of the story?yesIf this book were a movie would you go see it? No, because I know he would slip in his insults to those who have different views.

The only reason this is not a five star review is for the final chapter or so.The finale of the book took a cosmic perspective pulpit turn. While the final chapter or so delves on near personal/political perspective, the rest of the book abstains (mostly) from it.The book is a masterpiece of astrophysics. It has history, humor, wonderful points of reference, and great perspective of scientific principles. It's educational and entertaining.I'd recommend it.

First let me say that I am a huge fan of the author. But I like so many people am busy. I get caught up in the little things in life. Girlfriends. Exercise. Sports. Work. Just things in general. But every so often I stop to look up. And this book has refueled my motivation to stop and think about my place in the universe. Whether you listen all at once or break it up into easy to manage chapters it is a very good listen. Recommend it to anyone who needs a quick lesson on how things work.

Absolutely captivating, understandable and awesome. It's very easy for the mind and ears to follow along with Neil deGrasse Tyson's narrating. I will 100% recommend it to anybody who is the slightest bit awed when looking up at the nights sky. I must admit though that I can't recommend listening to it while doing important stuff such as work (because while your mind travels through space and time, your body will work slower and slower until it's at a standstill). So listen to it when you have some free time to relax.

A perfect primer for the unfamiliar with the Cosmos and all its complexity, wrapped and packaged in familiar terms, analogies and stories that ease our understanding of the universe. It's funny in Mr. Tysons style and really easy to listen in his own voice and words.

If you could sum up Astrophysics for People in a Hurry in three words, what would they be?LOL... everything literally. from the big bang to why you are alive. its a well told summation of how the universe came into being , the creation of everything. but intertainingWhat did you like best about this story? To be honest am a huge fan of NDT so glad to hear him read his own workWhich scene was your favorite?no real scenes but one second after the big bangIf you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?COSMOS... they already did a whole series

Too short. Ends w/ preaching mass of pure opinion. It has moments of great thought for sure; but is too short for the price.
