I liked this movie, but I like cheesy Christmas movies. The songs were apparently "too auto tuned" and the dance numbers were a bit too wooden, but those things don't bother me much. The acting was surprisingly decent for a cheesy Christmas movie; the "good" characters were likeable and the "bad" characters dislikeable, just as it should be. The storyline deviated from the standard Cinderella one enough to keep it interesting (for example there is no shoe left behind to be fitted.) Overall, if you love cheesy Christmas movies like I do, you will probably enjoy this one. If you don't, don't bother. :)
I don't even know where to start, there was so much awful in this movie. From the auto-tune to the flimsy "hidden" identity to the snow globe subplot... just no. I watch so many stupid cheesy movies, I love them and have really low standards so if I think it's bad then its really really bad. I am trying to find anything I liked about this right now and I cant. Ohhhh the dog, he was cute.
The songs are recorded in a studio and dubbed badly so it has the effect of being a long and crap music video.
The songs were heavily autotuned, the story line was terrible they tried to make it funny it just became cringe. The one with selena gomez was 10x better. Don't recommend at all.
I wanted a cheesy, silly Christmas movie and knew that's what's I was getting. It was entertaining enough for what it was. The auto tune is rough-the music in general. The biggest issue I had was the harmful messages that young women can find a way out by a: finding a guy to find your value, and b: have your life problems solved by someone offering an exorbitant amount of money. That aside, if you're wanting to shut your brain off for a while and kick back and relax, you could do worse.
I went into this expecting a cheesy, sappy, ridiculous Christmas movie, so I already didn't have high expectations. But oh. my. god. If your movie centers around a girl singing, and her singing is so bad that every word that comes out of her mouth has to be autotuned, FIND A DIFFERENT SINGER. If she's lipsyncing already, which she clearly is, why, why why why why, do you need her to sing the songs. (Also, wearing a pink wig and a hat is all it takes to be completely unrecognizable? Sure, sure...) The side characters were flat as a mirror, and the main characters had the depth of a puddle. The best thought out character was the dog (he was a very cute dog).
