Publisher's Summary In every life there is a turning point.... A moment so tremendous, so sharp and breathtaking, that one knows one's life will never be the same. For Michael Stirling, London's most infamous rake, that moment came the first time he laid eyes on Francesca Bridgerton. After a lifetime of chasing women, of smiling slyly as they chased him, of allowing himself to be caught but never permitting his heart to become engaged, he took one look at Francesca Bridgerton and fell so fast and hard into love it was a wonder he managed to remain standing. Unfortunately for Michael, however, Francesca's surname was to remain Bridgerton for only a mere 36 hours longer - the occasion of their meeting was, lamentably, a supper celebrating her imminent wedding to his cousin. But that was then.... Now Michael is the earl and Francesca is free, but still she thinks of him as nothing other than her dear friend and confidant. Michael dares not speak to her of his love...until one dangerous night, when she steps innocently into his arms and passion proves stronger than even the most wicked of secrets.... ©2017 Julia Quinn (P)2020 Recorded Books

Loved the storyline, as I have all the books of this series. Only thing I wish that would have been different was that she would have borne John’s daughter. Just to have a piece of him still. But even without that the storyline is great!
This was a beautiful story. Although at times Francesca tried my patience and my nerves. My heart broke fr Micheal so many times while reading .I was so relieved when Francesca realized that it was okay for her to have happiness in her life. I must say the second epilogue was as intense for me as the first 24 chapters of the book☺️. Thank you for including it. I have throughly enjoyed the entire Bridgeton series
This book is by far my favorite one from an intriguing series... the Bridgertons.Perfectly described scenes that pull you right into the story!Great narration, as usual. Definitely a must-read!!!
I agree with several other reviews, that this is the worst of the series. The story line was repetitive and just dragged on. Michael came across as unlikable instead of just frustrated as the author intended. I’m glad I read the earlier books first.
