This is when Christian didn’t get one more match. In July 2013, Randy Orton faced Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match. Randy caught Alberto with the RKO to pin the champion. On Raw, Brad Maddox let John Cena choose his opponent for Summerslam. On Smackdown, Alberto wanted the same opportunity as Cena, Vickie told him he has one week to think about it and Rob Van Dam interrupted. RVD said he is the obvious answer. Alberto called him loco because he doesn’t just get a shot from coming back after 6 years, telling him to prove himself. RVD said he’ll prove himself by beating him. They met in the ring. The ref tried to stop RVD from assaulting and Alberto caught him with a cheap shot to win the match. On Raw, Christian faced Alberto in a non-title match. Alberto went for the finish and Christian countered him to pin the champion. On Smackdown, Alberto came out to choose his opponent for Summerslam and he chose Ricardo Rodriguez. Vickie interrupted, who expected more from him. Alberto said he didn’t mean to disrespect her and will choose another opponent. He chose The Brooklyn Brawler. Vickie knew he was going to be immature so she announced a triple threat match between Randy, Christian and RVD. Randy caught RVD with the RKO, went for another, Christian countered him and pinned him for the win. When Christian was about to talk, Alberto attacked him and superkicked him. They had a non-title match next week, where Christian rolled up Alberto for the win. Alberto went after Christian, who then countered him and hit him with the Killswitch. On Raw, Christian said he is going to be a three time World Champion and he’s going to prove that he only needed one more match. Alberto interrupted and started speaking in Spanish. He said that after Summerslam, there’s not going to be one more match. On Smackdown, Christian beat Damien Sandow. Alberto attacked him and started beating him down. He said Christian will never be World Champion again, went for the Cross Armbreaker, Christian countered him and hit him with the Killswitch.
