Eddie Murphy doing his thing in making us all laugh. I love the way he portrays almost each person in the Klump family. Watching the credits of the movie was great in all the blooping and bleeping out. Sherman Klump did need to find love for himself and not as Buddy Love. Jada Pinkett was wonderful as always. Can't wait for the next Nutty Professor.
This comedy was okay, but for the most part it is nothing special. What made this one good though is that it wasn't advertised so much you knew all the best jokes before you even came to the theater as was the case for part two. The scenes with Sherman's family are also better, as they are not over done as they were in the second one. They were also a surprise, as you didn't expect them. The story has Sherman played by Eddie Murphy trying to devise a potion to make him thin. He succeeds and becomes of course Buddy Love. Buddy Love is a lot better in this movie as well, as he actually has a couple of funny scenes. All in all this movie has some real funny moments and is a better movie than its sequel.
This movie is about 90-95 minutes and there is not a single bad minute, it is Funny , emotional , smart and entertaining for every age. The humor is simple but so effective, and the scenes at the family table are in comedy History. A Classic and the best thing Eddy Murphy ever did. ( By far )
I happened to watch this film by accident with a friend and both of us were soon deeply embarrassed to be sitting in the cinema with people who actually enjoy this. The humour is totally obnoxious and the values are somehow all wrong. I also saw the version with Jerry Lewis and I don't think the two films are alike in the way they use humour. If Jerry Lewis bears any resemblance to another living actor than maybe to Jim Carrey (for example in "Me, Myself and Irene") but never to Eddie Murphy.
