During the WrestleMania II show, fans witnessed the mighty King Kong Bundy take on fan favourite Hulk Hogan in this new steel structure. Typically, WWF cage matches had been held inside mesh or cyclone wire cages, but at WrestleMania 2, fans watching at home saw the reinforced blue cage for the very first time. The Big Blue Cage would become a cornerstone in the WWF for years, finally making it's retirement way later in 2001. By that time, the cage had got a new coat of paint. On television, the cage had it's last public display in a match held in the UK featuring Edge and Christian. During it's active years, the big blue cage hosted matches featuring legends such as Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, The Ultimate Warrior, Mankind, Ravishing Rick Rude and loads more.
