Publisher's Summary Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google are the four most influential companies on the planet. Just about everyone thinks they know how they got there. Just about everyone is wrong. For all that's been written about the Four over the last two decades, no one has captured their power and staggering success as insightfully as Scott Galloway. Instead of buying the myths these companies broadcast, Galloway asks fundamental questions. How did the Four infiltrate our lives so completely that they're almost impossible to avoid (or boycott)? Why does the stock market forgive them for sins that would destroy other firms? And as they race to become the world's first trillion-dollar company, can anyone challenge them? In the same irreverent style that has made him one of the world's most celebrated business professors, Galloway deconstructs the strategies of the Four that lurk beneath their shiny veneers. He shows how they manipulate the fundamental emotional needs that have driven us since our ancestors lived in caves, at a speed and scope others can't match. And he reveals how you can apply the lessons of their ascent to your own business or career. Whether you want to compete with them, do business with them, or simply live in the world they dominate, you need to understand the Four. ©2017 Scott Galloway (P)2017 Penguin Audio

Also didn't learn anything new about big tech. Read Zero to One by Peter Thiel instead.
Explanation of why the 4 succeed and what you need to do now to succeed
Absolutely insightful and forward thinking. Scott has an entertaining way of communicating, a great sense of humor and phenomenal biz IQ about brands. This was my favorite book of the year.
But you can skip chapter 10. Straightforward presentation ensures most readers will get points. Informs the public on very important, but otherwise obscure facts
This is extraordinary book that speaks to the four companies shaping the way business is done in the 21st century. This book is also a very scary read as Scott warns us that the four don't play by the same rules other traditional firms play by on Wall St and main st. I'm A smarter person for reading this book. My only criticism is that Scott G. Didn't read the book himself. His voice would've made the book better. Overall a great audio book, I will buy a physical copy as well.
This bookhas no research basis, it’s full of hollow opinions and dramatic exaggerations/ misperceptions of all these companies. Shouldn’t be considered a business strategy book but rather a sensationalistic tale from an untalented author...
One of the most fascinating books I’ve ever listened to. I Highly recommend this book to everyone!
Highly recommended for anyone impacted by any of The Four! Text and performance are both great!
Scott Galloway is fantastic at seeing through the bullshit. His insight into these 4 companies is an evolutionary psychological reality check. His humor is great but would have more weight with his own voice and dry delivery. He even said at the end of the book how important voice is going to be in tech, and as an audiobook fan it boggles my mind that they hire people to read their own books.. the author is always best. (Listen to al franken and Eddie izzard’s new releasss, genius). I was actually at one of the events he spoke at and mentioned in the book, and it’s how I got into his YouTube channel. Thanks for making the book Scott.
There are a lot of good things to think about here, but there is an anti-trend that runs throughout the book. Great things youth know about, not necessarily to agree with.
