Publisher's Summary A deeply moving and insightful collection of personal essays from number-one best-selling author John Green. The Anthropocene is the current geologic age, in which humans have profoundly reshaped the planet and its biodiversity. In this remarkable symphony of essays adapted and expanded from his groundbreaking podcast, best-selling author John Green reviews different facets of the human-centered planet on a five-star scale - from the QWERTY keyboard and sunsets to Canada geese and Penguins of Madagascar. Funny, complex, and rich with detail, the reviews chart the contradictions of contemporary humanity. As a species, we are both far too powerful and not nearly powerful enough, a paradox that came into sharp focus as we faced a global pandemic that both separated us and bound us together. John Green’s gift for storytelling shines throughout this masterful collection. The Anthropocene Reviewed is a open-hearted exploration of the paths we forge and an unironic celebration of falling in love with the world. This book is so amazing. John green is a master writer. This book is filled with so much emotional and love for the work that I wanted to cry. I listened to most of it while sick and didn’t want to blow my nose in fear of missing some of the narration. Id give this book a sixth star if I could.

John uses the podcast and this book to explore humanity on a grand scale and brings it home by adding personal details of his life. some reviews are happy, some leave you sad, but all make you think. My only slight disappointment is how many reviews are from the podcast. If you are thinking about getting this book, get it. I give this book 4-1/2 stars.

While John Green may not have put much personality into his review of Diet Dr. Pepper that started this whole project, this book is packed with personal, emotional connections to products, places, events, people, animals, plants, songs, food, etc that make up the Anthropocene world. At times Green's emotions are so close to the surface and raw that it's hard not to feel his emotion or feel for him. So, maybe don't listen to this audiobook in public unless you don't mind strangers see you cry. Or your at the gym and can pass off tears as beads of sweat.I give The Anthropocene Reviewed 4 stars.

Probably the best book to come out of the pandemic. Immensely accessible, and simple yet profound. Would highly recommend! We all are weak, frail and vulnerable in our own ways. But the collective experience of sharing one’s stories about our journeys navigating the Anthropocene, sharing our vulnerabilities, and working together to make life a beautiful place for us all- is truly what reflects humanity’s strength. This book will make you feel many emotions, but it will remind you about our collective strength at some point, and leave you with hope.

Awesome. I laughed. I cried. I questioned. I learned. I pondered. I loved it. Thank you.

Could not recommend this book more. Green unfolds the human experience in the most simple and complex of terms.

It comes as no surprise that an author as talented as John Green could produce such a non-fiction masterpiece. This book opens your eyes to things one may not even think about in respect to how they see the world. In truth, I only bought this book because of the man behind the pages. I do not, however, waste an ounce of regret on my decision. I do and will love all of John Green's works until the day I die or lose the ability to consume them.

Last week when I started this book, my sweet little dog Ziggy who had been with me for 6 years was still with us. As I finish the book today, he’s been gone for 3 days. This book has brought me a lot of comfort the past couple days, by reminding me how wonderful it is to be in love with the world, with the joy and the sadness and the pain and everything. Ziggy was a 5 star dog, a member of our family, and we are heartbroken. But he also brought us lots of joy. This book also brought me lots of joy, and at the same time, broke my heart. 5 stars.
