Rain begins her match with Solo on a somewhat disrespectful note, making fun of her unusual name and then reaching up for a test of strength, knowing full well that her diminutive opponent would never be able to reach that high. Turns out it was a feint anyhow as Rain kicks poor Solo in the stomach and takes her down to the mat for a Headlock that’s followed by a series of reversals as both women take turns tying each other up in inventive ways. Every time it looks like one athlete has the upper hand, wrenching an arm, compressing a neck or twisting a leg, the other finds a way to wriggle out and return the favor. Myriad submissions are busted out – some hair-assisted, others with a choking element, all punishing to the back and legs. If it’s a submission that looks excruciating and turns the target into a human knot, you’ll see it here: leglocks, Scorpion Deathlocks, Surfboards, even some combination moves that don’t have names. One lady submits in the end but it’s difficult to say which one meted out the most punishment. A must for fans of technical, back-and-forth match-ups between determined and equally matched opponents.
