Glad I didn't. This is NOT a 'spoon feed me' movie. It's not literal. There are lots of clues* with which you can run in a lot of different directions. When I realised it wasn't SxFx & stopped trying to dissect what I was seeing, it immediately became better. A lot of really negative reviewers here, but possibly this style just isn't for them... and folks who stopped watching missed the Love is Blue dance sequence, which I found quirky, funny, & totally appropriate to the rest of the film. If you're at all intrigued, let it wash over you & think about it afterwards 🙂
Clearly, it was directed by a woman. What did I just watch? I think those four girls are caught in a hell loop. Acting was atrocious and there was no background on any of the girls or why they were there. Background on the four main characters would have made this movie a little bit better. Marsha is a psychopath, Beatriz is needy, and Gert is just Gert. I will not be watching this one again.
I kinda got "Lost" vibes from this one (meaning the TV Series, Lost.) My take on this Film is it is an Interesting / Imaginative take on the Afterlife or what is in between life and death. There is a group of girls who all seemed to have committed suicide and have ended up in some sort of Limbo with a WW2 setting.
... Doesn't mean it's bad. It just means you don't understand it. That's why film is considered art. It's unfortunate that so many feel compelled to share their uninformed opinions. But that's what we do these days. Ignore the reviews and try it.
The movie has some positive things going for it but of the negative comments the one that is merited is the slow snail like pace of the movie. But it is laughable how badly some of these reviewers missed the mark on this movie. It isnt even a very hard movie to comprehend. Id hate to see what they would try and guess the plots on some Tarantino type movies. For those who honestly thought this was a war movie, stick to reviews at your own speed. Id recommend Dora the Explorer or Barney. For a real challange maybe Sponge Bob. I am assuming those reviewers belong in that age group or could possibly have some sort of life challenge.
