Islam Makhachev retained his lightweight title despite a valiant effort from featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. Makhachev took home a unanimous decision in the main event from the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. It was a truly excellent contest that was back and forth for the full 5 rounds, both men having success in their rivals strong suit.
