Publisher's Summary The timeless tale continues.... The most popular and beloved American historical novel ever written, Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind is unparalleled in its portrayal of men and women at once larger than life but as real as ourselves. Now best-selling writer Alexandra Ripley brings us back to Tara and reintroduces us to the characters we remember so well: Rhett, Ashley, Mammy, Suellen, Aunt Pittypat, and, of course, Scarlett. As the classic story, first told over half a century ago, moves forward, the greatest love affair in all fiction is reignited; amidst heartbreak and joy, the endless, consuming passion between Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler reaches its startling culmination. Rich with surprises at every turn and new emotional, breathtaking adventures, Scarlett satisfies our longing to reenter the world of Gone with the Wind, and like its predecessor, Scarlett will find an eternal place in our hearts. ©1991 Stephens Mitchell Trusts (P)2018 Recorded Books

Overall, I enjoyed this book with several plot twists. I absolutely loved the ending which was filled with high energyand excitement.
The voices were believable except for Rhett's.Born in Atlanta, I have read "Gone With the Wind" at least 20 times, seen the movie even more than 20and read this sequel at least 5 times. Clark Gable is now and forever the voice of Rhett Butler, in my mind, so you can understand how disappointingRhett's voice was to me. All in all I found the 36 hours to be the most entertaining ever spent! Thank you, Audible. . .
All lose ends were tied up and there was adventure with familiar and new characters. I love that it's the same narrator as with the first book. It didn't even feel like listening to a sequel, it felt like listening to a continuation.
While the story ends favorably, there were so many characters and settings. Margaret Mitchell also had very detailed settings and character descriptions perhaps I was just being impatient.
Definitely worth the read/listen! I wish the narrator wouldn’t have “aged” the characters voices, but I do appreciate that it is the Same Narrator!
This is my third time enjoying this book over the past 10 years. Everything I love it.
The story is rich and satisfying and full of interesting turns and similar themes to the original. I do wish they had chosen a narrator with a young voice as all the characters are quite young. The narration is done well but her voice gives a mature quality and my mind's eye pictures Scarlett in her 50s rather than 30s.
Narration was ok, but the accents left something to be desired. The story itself was overwritten and trying to hard to be witty.Poor language consistency for the time period, characters' class, and circumstances.I will not have a repeat listen.
It Sounded like an old lady voice! After waiting so long disappointed in the performance.
