Once in awhile, I like to add some variety to the training to keep things interesting. While pad work on the boxing mitts trains power and technique, drilling on these long, thin foam noodles works on sharpening speed and accuracy. Usually coaches would use 2 foam noodles. I only have 1 at the moment but I can make it work too😉 The length of the foam stick lets me keep a distance from Paul, giving me a greater field of vision to check his form. The light and bendy nature of the stick also allows me to transit through combinations much faster, forcing Paul to work harder to keep up as I circle around him and call out defense and attack combinations.
