Amaiya and Vanessa, two of the roster’s genuine powerhouses, face off in this banter-filled match but the occasional chatter doesn’t distract either lady in the slightest. Following a brief exchange with the referee over a mispronounced name and an almost-handshake, it’s all punishment all the time. Vanessa takes the upper hand, squishing Amaiya in a corner, yanking her hair, putting her in armbars, chokes and submission holds. But Amaiya is no pushover, giving as good as she gets with some chokes and corner splashes of her own. The larger Vanessa keeps regaining control, however, punishing Amaiya’s legs with some cruel submissions, breaking her in half with a Camel Clutch and bouncing her off the mat a dozen different ways. One lady finally gets the victory with a leg-busting submission hold.
